The Refuge Center would like to acknowledge Anthony Herron as our Volunteer of the Year! As an Advisory Board member Anthony has contributed in many ways to the agency during the past three years. Anthony grew up in the Chicago area before going on to play college football at the University of Iowa. He played professional football for 8 years before retiring early in 2008 due to persistent knee problems. Anthony and his wife Kelly currently live in Huntsville, AL where Anthony is a defensive coach for the Arena Cup Champion TN Valley Vipers of the AF2 League and he is also a college football announcer for the Big Ten Network. Anthony serves the Refuge specifically through securing media and PR opportunities. He consistently comes through for Refuge during the time of our annual events and has spent countless hours obtaining silent auction items, serving as our MC and auctioneer, and most recently by securing a major media opportunity for Refuge during our Summer Legends of the Flame event by getting Comcast Spotlight as our event sponsor. A HUGE thanks to Anthony Herron!
